The Futile Staircase


The animals live in this room of the house. This is the animals room. This is the furniture room. This is the sleeping room. Here is the staircase for getting from this room to that room. It's not tall enough. It is a staircase of stupidity, a futile staircase. The animals just float up. The furniture doesn't care.







Dubuffet Poem

His son, age two, on wheels
rides through the modern art museum.
In the room of Dubuffets
he laughs and laughs
